Moscow is calling Canada a "warmonger" over a new drone-production deal with Ukraine and threatening to publish the address of the Canadian company involved.

Two weeks ago, Ottawa announced a partnership between Ukrainian drone maker Airlogix and Sentinel R&D, a Hamilton-based manufacturer, that could result in drones made in Canada being deployed to Ukraine's front lines.

At a Moscow press briefing Wednesday, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the world should know the location of the drone facility. She argued the deal allows Ukraine to hide military supplies in a third country and represents Canadian involvement in the conflict.

Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014 and launched a full-scale invasion in 2022. Drone technology has evolved rapidly during the conflict and now accounts for most casualties on both sides.

Canada has been an active supporter of Ukraine's defence effort, providing military aid and training. This production partnership represents another escalation of that commitment — and Moscow's threat to expose the company's location underscores the tensions around Western involvement in the war.
