Sunday with a chill — rain coming, but plenty to do.

It's cool and wet out there. A few transit hiccups, but nothing stopping your day.

Sunday with a chill — rain coming, but plenty to do.

Morning — it's 11°C and light rain's moving in, so layer up if you're heading out early. Warmer than the last few days, but that's only relative; this is proper Raincity weather. The sun won't set until 9:15 PM, so you've got a solid 16 hours of daylight to work with — even with clouds overhead, the UV's sitting at 7 (high), so a bit of sun care if you're out for a while.

On the roads: Highway 99 northbound near Stanley Park has a vehicle incident blocking the right lane between Lost Lagoon Rd and Stanley Park Dr. It's a 1.7 km stretch and they should have an update by 5 AM, so check ahead if you're heading that way. Nothing else major disrupting your Sunday drive around town.

Worth knowing — Compass Soccer Mini Keychains sold out at Waterfront Station (if that's your thing, worth asking around), and there's been some local momentum around a 911 mediator stepping in as strike talks heat up. Keep an eye on that one. Also, Car Free Day drew a solid crowd in Surrey yesterday despite the rain, which says something about what people are hungry for these days.

If you're thinking brunch or lunch, there's a new energy around food spots right now. On The Other Hand just dropped the steak-and-frites name and is leaning into something broader and more interesting. If wine and food are your scene, District Wine Village has eight wineries, breweries, and food all under one roof — worth a visit if you're making a day of it. And Shawarma Time is opening up at Hamilton and West Georgia if you're after something quick and handheld.

For tonight: live rock's happening at the Commodore if that's calling you, and there's hip-hop and dance around town if you want to lean into it. It's Sunday night energy — pick your vibe and pace accordingly. Indoors is probably smarter than the beach given the rain, but if you want to catch the water before the clouds really settle in, get out in the next couple hours.

Keep it warm, grab an umbrella, and enjoy the length of the day. See you out there.
