The second week of Dancing on the Edge festival presents three atmospheric works that conjure vivid worlds through striking movement, lighting, and sound — exploring themes from artificial intelligence to raw human vulnerability.

Modus Operandi's "Wound", choreographed by Kate Franklin and originally created with her dancers in 2025, brings some of the freshest choreography and new faces to the festival. Inspired by Kazuo Ishiguro's dystopian novel "Klara and the Sun" about an artificial companion in a future society, the work takes on sharp relevance as AI and its controversies dominate headlines.

Dance//Novella's "Soft Animals" and O.Dela Arts' "Where You Go" round out the Edge 4 double bill, each creating atmospheric worlds through different sensibilities. The festival celebrates rising voices and fresh talent across all three pieces.

Showtimes: - "Where You Go" (O.Dela Arts with Música Intima): Thursday, June 12 at 9 p.m. - "Soft Animals" (Dance//Novella) and "Wound" (Modus Operandi): Friday, June 13 at 9 p.m.

All performances take place as part of the Dancing on the Edge festival, which continues through mid-June with works from emerging and established choreographers.

The festival demonstrates how contemporary dance remains a vital space for exploring urgent themes and showcasing the city's creative talent.
