Murrin Provincial Park in Squamish is closed to the public as first responders search for two people who went missing in Browning Lake on Saturday afternoon.

At about 3 p.m., the Squamish RCMP detachment received a report that two individuals had fallen off their paddleboards and failed to resurface. The search involves RCMP officers on scene, RCMP Air Services, Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire Rescue, and Park Rangers.

The 24-hectare park is popular for swimming, fishing, hiking, and rock climbing. It sits just south of Squamish off Highway 99 and draws both locals and tourists year-round.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Squamish RCMP at (604) 892-6100. The park will remain closed while the investigation and search continue.
