Vancouver man struck with skateboard at Marpole bus stop in unprovoked assault

Vancouver police are searching for a man who attacked a transit rider without provocation at a Marpole bus stop on July 7 morning.
At approximately 9:25 a.m., a man waiting for a bus near Southwest Marine Drive and Ash Street was approached from behind by a male suspect. The suspect pushed the victim, ripped headphones from his head, and then struck him multiple times with a longboard-style skateboard. The victim managed to flee while calling 911 and sustained minor injuries to his forearm.
Police have released a cellphone photo of the suspect and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or drivers with dashcam footage from the area to contact the VPD non-emergency line at 604-717-3321. The investigation remains active.
