Canada faces Bosnia and Herzegovina at noon Friday, June 12, in Toronto — the co-host nation's first men's World Cup match on home soil and the opener for Group B.

Coach Jesse Marsch's team has a major opportunity to establish early rhythm in the 104-game tournament, which opened Thursday with Mexico defeating South Africa 2-0.

Bosnia and Herzegovina earned their spot after a dramatic UEFA playoff run, including a penalty shootout win over Italy in March. The match airs on TSN.

Later Friday, the U.S. plays Paraguay at 6 p.m. in Los Angeles. Mexico's opener saw Julian Quinones score six minutes in, with Raul Jimenez adding a second-half goal. In a separate Group A match Thursday, Korea Republic beat Czechia 2-1, with second-half goals from Hwang In-beom and Oh Hyeon-gyu offsetting Ladislav Krejci's opening strike.
