Wednesday's mild and ready for whatever you've got planned
Ten degrees, mostly cloudy, and sunset doesn't hit till nearly ten—evening's yours if you want it.
Morning's sitting at 10°C with cloud cover, so leave the heavy layers at home but don't ditch a jacket just yet. UV's low enough that you're not getting burned today. The real gift is the daylight—we're holding nearly 16.5 hours of it, and the sun's not dropping till 9:50 PM, so if you're thinking about catching something outside after work, you've got the time.
Road-wise, nothing's flagged as a major headache this morning. Check the Foothills cameras if you're headed that way, but your regular commute should move.
Worth knowing: the Calgary Food Bank just marked 42 years with one volunteer still showing up—that's the kind of thing that sticks with you. Also in the news, someone found a black widow in grapes at a local grocery store, so give your produce a once-over if you're paranoid about that sort of thing. On the bigger-picture side, there's a massive new community going up out near Belvedere in the east end, and the Stampede's got some complications brewing around the rodeo because of Texas livestock bans. Nothing urgent, but it's the sort of local chatter worth catching up on.
For lunch or dinner, Made By Marcus just opened their ninth spot in Greenwich Village if you're in that part of town and want something familiar. If smash burgers are calling your name, Flat Boy's in town now. And if you're feeling the Stampede vibes early, Shake Shack's running a Stampede burger on the midway—worth the trip if you're nearby.
If you're staying in tonight, there's real stuff to do. Come From Away is running at both Theatre Calgary and the Palace, so theater's an option if you're in that mood. The Laugh Shop's got Sterling Scott at 8 PM if comedy's your thing. And if you want live music without leaving the city, there's Joshua Baraka over in Edmonton at Pawn Shop Live at 6 if you feel like the drive.
Sports heads: the Calgary Surge takes on Saskatoon Mamba at WinSport at 7:30 PM if you're watching the match.
You're set for the day. Mild, plenty of light, and options for tonight if you want them. Get after it.
