We made it through 2026 flood season without a disaster. Mountain snowpack was way above normal and we had 50% more rain than usual from mid-May through mid-July, plus two major rain events. The Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir was put into operation for the first time ever—diverted 13 million cubic metres of floodwater away from Calgary. The Glenmore Reservoir also kept Elbow River flows safe. Years of planning and investment actually paid off.
