Rain's here for the week ahead — Edmonton, June 1.

Good morning. It's Monday, we're at 9°C, and there's a rainfall warning in effect—so don't leave without an umbrella. The UV's sitting low at 1.0, so you're not chasing sun today anyway. You've got light till 9:53 PM, which is solid for a June evening, but the rain's going to keep most plans indoors. Dress in layers; it's cool enough that you'll want them.

On the commute side, give yourself a bit of extra time this morning. There are a few transit detours in play around the Chapel Boulevard and Carey Way area—Routes 719, 663, and 668 are all rerouting from Chapel and Carey southbound over to Charles Li and Chapel eastbound. That's going to shift your timing if you usually catch one of those. Also keep in mind there was a new four-way stop added at Maple Road and 12th Street, but they've already pulled it because of the traffic congestion it caused, so that's cleared now. Still, Monday mornings get busy; leave a little earlier if you can.

Worth knowing this week: Mill Woods has a new wellness village that's reshaping how people in Alberta access health care. It's a bigger conversation about what's changing in the city's south end. And if you've got your eye on Canada's World Cup tune-up match today against Uzbekistan, that's on the slate too.

Since the rain's settled in for the day, skip the parks and patios for now. Instead, find a good spot for dinner—somewhere inside where you can warm up and sit a while. There's plenty of solid food around the city worth the trip on a wet Monday. If you're thinking about the week ahead, there's a solid list of seven things happening in Edmonton through June 7, so worth a browse when you've got a minute.

For tonight, the live music scene is quiet—the rain's doing its thing—so this is a good night to settle in with a stream instead. It's the kind of Monday that asks for comfort, so lean into it.

Stay dry out there, and see you on the other side of the rain.
