Saturday's mild and long—grab your evening plans early — Edmonton, June 6.

Good morning. It's Saturday and you're looking at 8°C—mild enough to move without hauling a parka, but grab a layer because there's still some chill in the air. UV's sitting at 5.0, so if you're planning to be outside for a stretch, sunscreen's worth the three seconds. The real gift today is the light: you've got till nearly 10 PM, so whatever you've got planned for this evening, you can stretch it out.

A couple of things worth knowing as you plan your day. Khazana's closing—that one stung a bit, given how solid the spot's been for Indian food in the city. If that was on your list for the week, now's the moment to think of a backup. On the brighter side, Brio Bakery's opening a new spot over in Mill Creek, and the founders are stepping back a bit, so that's worth a look if you're in the neighbourhood.

For lunch, you've got the weather for a patio if you're keen—8°C is manageable with a coffee and a spot in the sun. The edge is off the bite, at least.

If you're looking for something to do tonight, you've got options all over the map. The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra's got a show on at the Winspear Centre at 7:30 PM if you want something solid and warm indoors. Over at Myshak Metro Ballpark, the Energy City Cactus Rats are playing the Brooks Bombers at 7:05 PM—baseball on a mild June evening if that's your speed. And if wrestling's your thing, Top Talent Wrestling's got a card at Midway starting at 6:00 PM. Pick your vibe and run with it.

Saturday's the kind of day that doesn't ask much of you except to get outside or get out somewhere. The light's going to be there till nearly bedtime, so even if your evening plans don't kick off till late, you're golden. Bundle up a touch, move around, and make something of it.

Stay warm out there.
