Edmonton police are searching for several men following an alleged attempted luring incident involving two 14-year-old girls in the southwest earlier this week.

The incident took place around 8 a.m. near 18A Avenue SW and Rutherford Road SW. According to reports, the teens were walking when they were followed and then approached by several men in a grey Chrysler Pacifica van. The men shouted at the girls and allegedly tried to lure them into the van while driving erratically with the side door open. The teens ran and a bystander called 911.

The grey van was last seen driving north on Rutherford Road and was later spotted near James Mowatt Trail and 17 Avenue. Police believe five or six men were in the van at the time, all believed to be around 30 to 40 years old. Investigators also believe a second silver vehicle may have been involved and are looking for a person of interest.

Anyone with information about the vehicles or men is asked to contact EPS at 780-423-4567.
