An RCMP officer from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, has been charged with uttering threats against U.S. President Donald Trump over social media.
Evenson Dumerlus, 34, allegedly posted a video on his Snapchat account making unspecified threats against the president while he was a member of the security team at the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Alberta, in June 2025.
According to RCMP, Dumerlus was removed from his duties on the same day he allegedly made the threats. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 30 at the courthouse in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, southeast of Montreal.
