Tuesday cools down—good day for the Mountain or a gig tonight

It's noticeably cooler this morning—we're down to 13 degrees after the warmth we've been riding, so throw a layer on if you're heading out early. Sun's still strong though (UV's sitting at 7, so it'll burn you if you're not paying attention), and you've got a full 15 hours and 40 minutes of daylight to work with. Sunset's at 8:45, which means if you're thinking of catching something tonight and want to walk it off first, you've got the whole evening.

Nothing major blocking the commute this morning, so you're clear to move.

Worth knowing: there's been a marsupial loose on the South Shore for a few days now—one of those stories that's equal parts funny and weird. Meanwhile, the Mural Festival has turned Boulevard Saint-Laurent into an open-air gallery, so if you're anywhere near the Main and want to wander, there's stuff worth looking at. And if you eat out, Montreal restaurants are having a moment—the language office went after Arthurs, a spot a lot of people care about, and the city's rally kind of showed what people think about that.

For lunch or dinner, you've got options. If you're the type who wants something already made and decent, there are grocery stores around with solid prepared-food sections if you're moving fast. Otherwise, Montreal's rotisserie game is strong right now—we're talking proper birds, proper sauce. There's also some solid pizza spots if you want to wait in line for it, and Italian restaurants that'll make you not regret the detour.

Tonight's where it gets good. You've got three different vibes to pick from: Mardi Latin Groove at Le Balcon X Terrasse at 7 p.m. if you want something social and loose; Black Country, New Road at MTELUS at 8 p.m. if you're in an indie rock mood; and Underscores at Le Studio TD at 8 p.m. if you want something darker. There's also a diploma ceremony at Théâtre Manuvie at 7 if you know someone graduating. With the weather being cool and clear, and the sun hanging around until nearly 9, you could grab dinner outside somewhere, catch some music, and still feel like you've got your evening. Pick your poison.

Stay warm out there.
