Montreal Police announced Thursday that a sex offender wanted locally has been arrested in Hamilton, Ontario.
Christopher Watts, 66, was apprehended by Halton Regional Police last Tuesday after violating conditions related to his supervision. The Correctional Service of Canada notified SPVM that Watts had breached the terms of his release.
Police had issued an arrest warrant through the SPVM's Sex Offender Monitoring Team, which had been assigned to support the CSC in its investigation. The team had been appealing to the public for information to locate him after he violated his release conditions while in the Montreal area.
Watts remains in custody pending further proceedings.
