POP Montreal is hosting a free outdoor concert Sunday, June 21, to mark National Indigenous Peoples Day, partnering with Resilience Montreal and the Native Women's Shelter.
The event takes place in Cabot Square starting at 3 p.m. and will feature performances by the Hello Crows, Linda Saddleback & Willie Thrasher, Leonard Sumner, Kris Kinokewin, Manitou Singers, Sinquah Family, Hoop Dancers, Elder Ka'nahsohon, and Kevin Deer.
This is the sixth annual concert in the series. It's part of a broader day of NIPD celebrations across the city: a civic ceremony and day-long celebration take place in front of the Montreal Science Centre in the Old Port, and a free afternoon event is scheduled at the Botanical Garden.
