Inmate dies following altercation at Donnacona prison

An inmate in his 30s died Wednesday following an altercation between several detainees at the Donnacona Penitentiary.

The Sûreté du Québec was notified of the fight at 7:30 p.m., and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Forensic technicians are on site to analyze the scene as investigators work to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the incident.

A spokesperson with the SQ said no further information would be released to protect the integrity of the investigation.
