Update — August 03, 2026: Highway 20 westbound will also close between exit 95 and the De Montarville Boulevard entrance for four consecutive weekends starting August 7 at 11 p.m., with additional closures scheduled for August 21–24, August 28–31, and September 4–7, as the Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable replaces joints on the De Montarville Boulevard overpass. Highway 20 eastbound closures are scheduled for August 14–17 and August 28–September 1. Drivers should allow extra travel time and use detour routes via Ampère Street and De Mortagne Boulevard.

Route 136 eastbound will close at Exit 3 (Downtown Montreal / Guy Street) from Monday, August 3 at 5 a.m. through Thursday, August 6 at 7 p.m. for storm sewer connection work, the transport ministry announced Friday.

Exit 3 is the last exit before the Ville-Marie Tunnel, making it a critical junction for downtown traffic. Temporary signage will mark the detour route.

Vehicles carrying hazardous materials or exceeding 4.4 metres in height must take Exit 2 (Atwater Avenue) instead. The closure may be postponed due to bad weather or operational constraints.

Drivers are urged to consult Quebec 511 online or via mobile app for real-time traffic updates and notifications. The source does not specify the typical volume of traffic using Exit 3 or whether this is part of a larger infrastructure project.
