Tuesday chill, summer vibes at night—pick your show

Morning's on the crisp side—9°C, partly cloudy, and the UV's running high at 7, so if you're out at lunch, don't skip the sunscreen. We've had warmer days lately, so layer up for the commute. The good news: sunset's not until 8:53 PM, so you've got nearly 16 hours of daylight to work with. Perfect for an evening walk or patio time if you're thinking that way.

No major transit chaos to know about this morning—standard Tuesday on the O-Train and OC Transpo. Should move fine.

A few things worth paying attention to: Jeff Leiper's laid out his mayoral pitch around transit fixes and affordable housing, which will matter to a lot of people here. On the federal side, CRA workers are facing an office-space lottery ahead of a July return to the office—if that's you or someone you know, July's going to be a bit of a scramble. Meanwhile, the Redblacks are unveiling new white jerseys for Saturday's home game, and the Senators just signed a Norwegian centre, Eskild Bakke Olsen, if you follow the team. The Humane Society's also opening a subsidized vet clinic in Vanier, which is solid community news.

For lunch or dinner: Cactus Club's got a $9 smash burger running this summer if you want to keep it simple, and there's a new Linden Pizza on Beechwood doing exceptionally thin, crisp crusts—worth the trip if you're a pizza person. If you're looking to eat well on twenty bucks or less, there's plenty around. Beer patios are also in full swing if you're thinking later—everything from York Street down to some pretty good parking-lot setups, depending on your vibe.

Tonight's got two solid things happening if you're heading out. Sandra Shamas is doing stand-up at Algonquin Commons Theatre at 7:30 PM, or if you're more in the mood for live music, Sherri Harding's launching the Storyland album at the NAC at the same time. Pick your vibe—comedy or indie rock—and you're set. Weather's mild enough to feel pleasant heading out, and you've got plenty of daylight to get there without rushing.

Keep it warm out there—it's a notch cooler than the last few days—and enjoy the length of the evening.
