Light rain Thursday—grab a roof and settle in.

Morning. It's 15°C and light rain, so leave the umbrella by the door—you'll want your hands free. There's a Special Weather Statement in effect, so keep an eye on conditions if you're heading out later. Sunset's at 8:54 tonight, which gives you plenty of daylight to work with, but the wet will stick around, so dress accordingly. UV's low at 3.0, so sun protection isn't the concern today—it's just keeping dry.

Commute-wise, you're good. No major disruptions flagged, so the LRT and OC Transpo are running normal. Roads should be fine too; just take it steady if you're driving in the rain.

Worth knowing: Alex Lawson's throwing his hat in the ring with an outsider campaign focused on quality of life, if local politics are on your radar. Meanwhile, the public service pay centre is bracing for return-to-office, and they're already short on desk space—a headache for the federal workforce that's been remote for a while. On the brighter side, a garage fire in Barrhaven sparked by an e-scooter got contained fast, so no drama there.

If you're hunting lunch, Cactus Club just dropped a $9 smash burger and frosé for summer, which is solid midweek fuel. Looking for something lighter and cheaper? There's plenty of spots where you can eat well for $20 or less across the city. Or if you want to stay simple—Linden Pizza on Beechwood's been getting buzz for exceptionally thin, crisp crusts. Grocery sales run through the 24th if you're stocking the fridge.

Evening's made for indoors. Light rain means lean toward venues with a roof. Jessi Cruickshank's doing stand-up at Rum Runners at 7, if comedy's your move. Moontricks is on at Overflow Brewing at 7:30 if you want live music instead. Paper Moon Theatre's also running Rock of Ages over at the Hard Rock at 6 if you're in the mood for something bigger. All of it beats standing outside in the wet.

Thursday's a good night to shake off the work grind and remind yourself the week's almost done. Get out if you want to, stay in if you'd rather—either way, you've got options.

Stay dry out there.
