A 37-year-old Ottawa woman has been charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a body in connection with the 2025 death of Robert Prévost, a 63-year-old Clarence-Rockland resident.

The Ontario Provincial Police announced Friday, June 12, that Jessica St. Michael was arrested Thursday with assistance from the Gatineau Police Service. She remained in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L'Orignal on Friday.

Proévost's body was discovered May 17, 2025, in the Ottawa River near Dallaire Street in Clarence-Rockland. He had been reported missing in March 2025. The post-mortem examination ruled his death a homicide.

On June 4, Luc Décarie, 51, of St-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec, was also charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a body in the same case. The OPP investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about the case can contact the Russell County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477.
