Sunday's all yours: sun, patios, and live music till late

Morning. You've got a proper Sunday: 16°C, mainly sunny, and the UV's sitting at 8 (high), so sunscreen's a play if you're out for hours. Sun doesn't dip till 8:56 PM, so there's real evening in this day.

Roads are mostly clear, but if you're heading north on the Don Valley Parkway past Bayview/Bloor, you'll hit delays. The 427 northbound has a disabled vehicle blocking the right lane and shoulder at the Queensway—crawl if you're that way bound. The Gardiner's got some work west of Spadina too. Nothing catastrophic, but worth knowing if you're timing a move.

Couple things worth your attention: the city's now requiring rental buildings to post condition ratings—a push for transparency on the rental market. And if you haven't heard, the beaches officially opened for summer swimming, so if you've been itching to get in the water, today's the day to scoop it.

Lunch-wise, Burlington's got a beach shack doing smash burgers worth the drive if you're making a day of it out that way. If you're staying in the 6ix, there's a bunch of patios around town showing the World Cup this month—worth scoping if that's your vibe. Fair warning though: there's a scotch bonnet shortage hitting hot sauce prices across T.O., so if you're particular about your heat, stock up now.

The Jays are at home today against Baltimore—first pitch at 1:37 PM at Rogers Centre. Solid Sunday afternoon if you're into it.

Tonite's got range. If you want live music, JINJER's playing the Danforth Music Hall at 6 PM (metal's the vibe), The Fiery Furnaces are at Hugh's Room at 7 PM, and there's a Rampage Tour with Arjun Rampal at REBEL, also at 7. Dog Man—The Musical is on at CAA Theatre at 5 PM if theatre's your lane. With the sun hanging till nearly 9, you can catch an early dinner and still make a show without it feeling rushed.

Get out there. This is what Sunday's made for.
