Monday morning: cooler snap, Gardiner trouble, and live music tonight

Hey, so it dropped overnight. We're at 10°C this morning, which is a real step back from what we've had — bring a jacket if you're heading out early. Sun's up and staying put all day, and you've got a solid 15 hours of daylight to work with, so if you need to squeeze something in outside, the afternoon's your window. UV's sitting at 7 (high), so don't sleep on the sunscreen even though it feels brisk. Sunset's at 9:01 p.m., so you've got time to play with tonight.

Commute-wise, watch yourself on the Gardiner eastbound before Islington — there's construction in that stretch. The 401 eastbound express has a disabled vehicle hung up at Leslie, so left shoulder and one left lane are down; expect that to slow the crawl if you're taking the highway. And if you're heading north on Mortimer between Dewhurst and Donlands, that's closed for police activity — the 62 bus is detouring via Donlands, Cosburn, and Pape instead. Nothing catastrophic, but budget a few extra minutes if any of those are on your route.

Coupled of things worth knowing: there's been real violence in the neighbourhood this week. A homicide victim in North York has been identified as a targeted attack, and a man's been charged after a weapon assault spree on Danforth. Just stay aware out there.
