As Canada prepares for its World Cup campaign, Toronto is hosting a series of installations and activations celebrating the tournament. While the Canadian squad plays in Vancouver, fans in the city have multiple spots to experience the soccer energy.

KICKOFF, a large structure shaped like a soccer ball, sits behind the Eaton Centre in Trinity Square Park. The installation features dynamic LED lighting that changes to team colours whenever a goal is scored during live games. The project, led by Toronto Metropolitan University architectural science students in partnership with the Yonge Downtown BIA, aims to unite soccer fans and foster community excitement.

"The idea was just to capture Canada's love for soccer, honestly, because obviously soccer is such a way that brings people together," said Jose-Miguel Calle, a TMU student and project lead. The installation was first unveiled on June 11 and will remain onsite for approximately a month and a half.

The Great Beaver Quest invites residents to explore Old Town Toronto searching for 52 soccer-themed beaver statues dressed in the colours of tournament countries. Participants can win gift cards for local businesses.

PASI, a large-scale outdoor photography exhibit at The Esplanade, celebrates cultural diversity and connection through soccer-inspired artwork. Hands-on soccer activities are available at Downtown Yonge InPlay!, while the ROM offers themed adventure experiences exploring the sport.

Fans can also gather at the FIFA Fan Festival at Fort York, though tickets are limited. The festival will broadcast matches and host cultural programming throughout the tournament.
