Update — July 29, 2026: A 27-year-old Toronto man and 20-year-old Brampton man have been charged following a human trafficking investigation in Hamilton and Toronto spanning March to June, with police alleging the Toronto man trafficked multiple youth and advertised their sexual services online while the Brampton man assisted in procuring victims. The investigation began in May after Hamilton Police received information about the alleged exploitation, and the accused also face drug-related charges including possession of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, hydromorphone, and oxycodone for the purpose of trafficking. Police say there may be additional survivors who have not yet come forward.
Toronto police have made two arrests in a human trafficking investigation that began in March and involved a 27-year-old victim in Toronto and Ajax.
Police allege the two accused trafficked the victim through a combination of deception, coercion and control. The victim was taken to different locations to meet clients to perform sexual services, and the money earned was surrendered to the accused and kept by them.
Nygel Wright, 30, of Toronto was arrested on July 16 following a search warrant executed at an address in the City of Toronto. He is facing a total of 12 charges including assault, forcible confinement, trafficking in person comprehensive, advertising another person's sexual services and material benefit from sexual services.
On the same day, Kristin Hendren, 34, of Ajax was arrested following a search warrant executed in Ajax. She is facing five charges including trafficking in persons by recruiting comprehensive and material benefit from sexual services.
Both accused were scheduled to appear at the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on the same day as the arrests. Investigators believe there may be more alleged victims and are encouraging anyone with information to contact police.
