Update — July 29, 2026: Toronto Police have charged a 57-year-old Toronto man with 68 offences following an investigation that began in March into the online sexual exploitation of children across multiple countries. The investigation, conducted by the Internet Child Exploitation Unit, led to a warrant executed on April 16 at a home near Broadview Street and Danforth Avenue, where electronic devices were seized. Police allege the accused used multiple personas on social media platforms including Snapchat, Discord, Instagram, TikTok, and Fortnite to lure victims in Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, the United States, Australia, Scotland, and England.
Toronto police have charged a 36-year-old Mississauga man in a human trafficking investigation that began in June 2026 and involved allegations of coercion, deception, and financial control over a 32-year-old woman.
Investigators with the Human Trafficking Unit launched the probe focusing on incidents that occurred in both Toronto and Mississauga. Police allege the accused trafficked the victim "through a combination of deception, coercion, and control," forcing her to take sexualized photos that were then distributed online. The money earned through the victim's sexual services was surrendered to the accused and kept by him.
On Wednesday, July 22, officers executed a search warrant at a Mississauga address, where they located and arrested Elijah Benjamin. Benjamin is charged with assault, theft over $5,000, procuring, advertising another person's sexual services, trafficking in persons over 18, and other related offences. He appeared in court on Wednesday morning.
